Feedback from Gold Fever visits across the country is given below:
Gold Fever was such a fantastic day, myself my coaches and the students all found it incredibly useful and learnt a great deal about how to progress on to be the best in our chosen field, in our case Rowing. Martin and Ian challenged the BMS students and really dug deep to find both our strengths and weaknesses. Simply the day was awesome, and it is something I am keen to spread the word about with other schools and clubs.
I attended the Gold Fever session on Monday at Bedford Modern School. At first I was really unsure what to expect. But upon leaving I had been blown away and really been given something to think about.
It has been by far the most inspirational talk I've ever had. Not only because you were an olympic rower that won gold, but your mental attributes personally inspired me.
Not only will this help me in rowing. But I will use this throughout my studies and any other activities/hobbies that I will ever take part in.
I wanted to write and express my sincere thanks for your time and input yesterday. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and I think really got something from the workshop. (if some of the goals set are to go by!) One good measure is that the pupils talked about the session afterwards to respective tutors and friends.
I just wanted to send you a thank you for running the event in Heywood earlier in the month. Both Martin and yourself did an excellent job and with one or two exceptions (!) kept the kids engaged with the programme. The feedback from the school has been very positive and I'm sure that some of the messages and skills you presented will be retained by the children moving forward.
Thank you for a brilliant day yesterday! You were excellent company and your manner of talking to the students was just right. The message was perfect for our students. I have had a chat with some whilst on lunchtime duty today and those I spoke to were very positive about what they had gained from the workshops.
I just wanted to give you some feedback regarding the event yesterday. Well where do I start? It was fantastic!
To deliver such a powerful message and I'm sure in many cases a life changing experience in just one and a half hours is a credit to Ian and Martin. The fact the pupils were so engaged and attentive says it all really. I really enjoyed the session from a personal point of view and can certainly take away some things from it myself.
Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the workshops at Quilley School today. This is a first class initiative and seeing it first hand along with the enthusiasm of both the teachers and pupils made for a very rewarding day.
The Olympic ideal embodied in the events of the day and in the truly inspirational words of Martin Cross motivated our students to produce some of the best work I have ever seen. It was a great day for The Hemel Hempstead School.
The Gold Fever experience was wonderful for children and adults alike.

Hi Ian - I saw it on the news too - it was a great article! The children definitely came across well and had taken the message in! I will definitely share with my fellow heads! We are providing the children with 2 weeks to enter the competition. I will drop you a line when we have all their entries ready. I'm glad to hear that you and Martin wish to keep in touch with us - I think that's a marvellous idea and will keep the spirit of 'Self Belief' well and truly high.
